Maria Tipo

Alessio Cioni was born in Empoli and began studying music and piano at the age of five with Professor Giulia Ninci. In 1993, he was admitted to the Conservatory and, under the guidance of Maestro Enrico Stellini, graduated in 1999 with top marks, honors, and honorable mention from the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato "R. Franci" in Siena. Immediately thereafter, at the initiative of the Institute, he performed at the Teatro de' Rozzi in Siena, receiving great public success.


He has attended piano performance courses: in 1998 with Maestro Piero Rattalino, in 2003 with Maestro Leslie Howard, and in 2004 with Maestro Oxana Yablonskaya at the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht. After this last masterclass, he performed at the Main Hall of the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg, performing music by Liszt. In 2008, he attended the Advanced Course at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, held by Maestro Joaquin Achucarro and received the Diploma of Merit as the best participant in the Masterclass. He attended the three-year advanced piano course held by Maestro Andrea Lucchesini at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo (Torino), and received the Diploma in 2004. In 2005, he performed at the Patrizia Cerutti Bresso Hall of the Pinerolo Academy, performing an entirely Liszt program.

He has performed in concerts in Italy and abroad, including: Sierre (Switzerland) in 2000 at the Hotel de Ville, Porto (Portugal); and Ipanema Park, Los Angeles, USA, in 2002. in 2002 at the Civic Auditorium in Pasadena with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra performing Sergei Rachmaninoff's Third Concerto for piano and orchestra, Barga (LU) in 2003 at the

Teatro dei Differenti, Cagliari in 2003 at the Palazzo Siotto, Florence in 2003 at the Teatro della Pergola "Amici della Musica", Empoli in 2003 at the Teatro Shalom, Sulmona in 2004 at the Auditorium dell'Annunziata, Pistoia in 2007 at the Salone Vescovile, in 2005 he played Franz Liszt's Second Concerto with the Radio and TV Symphony Orchestra of Belgrade at the Kolarac Theatre, Rome in 2012 at Palazzo Braschi and at the Kèiros Theatre, in 2013 in Florence at Santo Stefano a Ponte Vecchio and at the Teatro della Pergola with the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina. In 2015 he performed Beethoven's Choral Fantasy Op. 80 with the Borgo San Lorenzo Orchestra and Choir conducted by Maestro Andrea Sardi; also in 2015 he performed Beethoven's Third Concerto

Op. 37 with the Florentine Chamber Orchestra at the Orsanmichele Museum in Florence. He performed in a chamber music concert with violinist Paolo Chiavacci in Albino (Bergamo) during the 2007 Spring Festival; he was invited by Cleveland State University (U.S.A.) and performed in a series of concerts at Drinko Hall and in Canton (Ohio) at Walsh University.


In 2015 in Florence he participated in the International Masterclass in Orchestral Conducting with the Florentine Chamber Orchestra, obtaining the Special Diploma of Merit. Since 2014 he has taught piano at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato “P. Mascagni” in Livorno. Since 2013, he has been the principal piano teacher at the International Summer Masterclass in Cutigliano (PT) organized by the Centro di Formazione Musicale in Pistoia. He has performed in concert with the Bellini Orchestra of Catania at the Teatro

Greco in Taormina during the “Taormina International Book Festival” www.taobuk.it . He is President of the SilVer Cultural Association of Empoli and of the Ferruccio Benvenuto Busoni String Orchestra and a piano teacher at the SilVer International Piano Academy in Empoli.


In 2017, the album "Alessio Cioni, Piano Live" was released on the EMA Records label www.emavinci.it with music by P. I. Tchaikovsky, F. Liszt and S. Rachmaninoff.
